Taking control of the well-known characters from George R.R. I will say that I think SU&SD are overly dismissive of Kickstarter games in general, perhaps to the point of being contrarian. Designed for ages 14 and up, A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition is a classic game of warfare, diplomacy, and intrigue for three to six players. They can dislike the game and you can love it one does not preclude the other. You come off as needing validation for this thing you like, which is your problem, not theirs. This is a good indicator that you aren't entirely unbiased here. Yes, most of us can agree that the combat sticks out like a sore thumb, but it's not that bad and the rest of the game is an absolute triumph. Quinns even praises the secret base system right in the article.

I recall their review being largely positive, but clearly identifying their issues with the game that ultimately lead it to fall flat for them. I've never played Rebellion and I have no dog in the fight, but I don't think they are being especially contrarian here.
